Every year-end, our team gathers to analyze the thousands of designs we've created over the months. 2025 was the year of the 'clean girl' nail look — natural colors, thin French, everything very calm. But the coming winter, clients are asking for everything else.
Here are the 5 trends that will dominate the 2026 season, based on what our clients are booking and what we're seeing in international salons.
1. Chrome and the mirror effect
Chrome powder is making a major comeback, but not in the old way. 2026 is bringing chrome in softer hues — warm bronze, rose chromium, silver with sky-tinted undertones. The effect is more 'liquid metal' than 'space age'.
- Full chrome over a base color (black gives the strongest effect).
- Chrome at the tip as a French accent.
- Half-and-half: half the nail chrome, half natural.
- 'Aurora' chrome with multi-color reflections.

2. Reverse French
Classic French is always in style, but 2026 is introducing creative variations. The most popular: reverse French, where the white line is at the base of the nail, not the tip. More modern, less traditional.
The variations being requested most:
- Reverse French with a thin line (more elegant).
- Double French — white at the tip AND at the base.
- Color French — line not in white, but red, blue, green.
- V-French — line forms a V at the corner, not a straight line.
3. Magnetic gel (the 'cat eye' effect)
Magnetic gel isn't a new technique, but it's exploding again in 2026. It uses metallic pigments that flow with a magnet, creating a 3D ripple effect (cat eye) that shifts with the light.
Most beautiful in dark colors — sea blue, gray with reflections, deep purple. But we're also seeing delicate versions in pink and pearl gray for a more natural look.

4. Micro-art and minimal lines
Even with bold colors returning, very fine and delicate designs are staying in style — especially with clients who want 'something different' but not too noticeable.
- Fine lines (1mm) in one corner of the nail.
- Small dots in clusters, like a constellation.
- Abstract geometric shapes in a single color.
- Lines that follow the nail's curve.
5. Gems and crystals, but strategic
Through 2024 and early 2025, gems were used freely — many gems everywhere. Now comes the 'less is more' version: 1-3 stones in strategic spots, not a packed canvas.
The most requested placement: a single large stone at the base of the nail, paired with a natural color. Or 2-3 small stones lined up along the French line.

Bonus: the colors of the season
Regardless of technique, the color palette is shifting. Here's what's dominating bookings for 2026:
- Earth tones: terracotta, deep brown, army green.
- Warm pastels: peach pink, calm lavender, mint green.
- Returning classics: deep burgundy red, navy blue.
- Modernized neutrals: gray with pink undertones, shimmery beige.
“We're seeing clients move away from matchy-matchy outfit-coordinated nails and toward colors that look good on their own — regardless of what they're wearing.”
Which one is for you?
You don't need to chase every trend. But if you're thinking of trying something new in the new year, bring an inspiration photo when you come and our team will help you choose the technique and color that works for you, your nail shape, and your lifestyle.
Some of these techniques (like magnetic gel or chrome) require specific experience — not every salon does them well. Our specialists are trained specifically in all of these techniques and continue to learn new ones to bring international trends here to Durrës.
